<h3>Kentucky Derby Picks 2008 </h3>
<p> </p>
<p>I am the Kentucky Derby Picks expert. I have been
giving out my choices for 7 years. I get my information
from going to teh racetrack day after day for the
last 15 years . I started publishing my selections
for the first Saturday in May since 200. This years
<a href="http://www.marticks.com/mclubhouse.html" title="Kentucky Derby Picks 2008">2008
kentucky Derby Picks</a> were decided on upon careful
analysis and research...I have gotten <a href="http://www.marticks.com" target="_blank">Kentucky
Derby picks</a> in the past from a variety of resources
including some cool web sites ..some of these also
offer <a href="http://www.thederbywinner.com" target="_blank" title="Kentucky Derby Picks">Kentucky
Derby picks 2008</a>.</p>

<p> last year The horses have all gotten their workouts and I
am pleased to see a full field of Kentucky Derby
Contenders.<br>
On Tuesday at <a href="http://musicproduct.tripod.com">Churchill
Downs tips</a>. Street Sense, the likely favorite
for Saturday's <a href="http://marticks.tripod.com">Kentucky
Derby 133</a>, had another flawless work, while
two horses, Cobalt Blue and Xchanger, scratched
from the Derby.</p>
<p>The defections of Cobalt Blue and Xchanger allowed
both Teuflesberg and Imawildandcrazyguy to move
into the body of the race. Entries for the Derby
were to be taken on Wednesday morning, with posts
selected Wednesday night. As of Tuesday, the horse
first on the bubble for the <a href="http://www.finerremodeling.com">Kentucky
Derby picks</a> was Reporting for Duty, who is trained
by Steve Asmussen.</p>
<p>Asmussen also trains Derby starters Curlin and
Zanjero. Curlin, who is unbeaten in three starts
but did not race at age 2, and Street Sense, who
won last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile are seen
by most handicappers as the two horses who will
vie for the favorites roll.</p>
<p>Sweetnorthernsaint ended up the <a href="http://www.angelfire.com/games2/wintoday">Derby
favorite</a> last year at 5-1, with Barbaro 6-1
and Brother Derek 7-1.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Derby field underwent some last-minute adjustments
on Tuesday when Cobalt Blue and Xchanger came out.
</p>
<p>Tuesday morning at <a href="http://www.angelfire.com/pop/thegimpelf">Churchill
Downs picks</a>, however, Cobalt Blue looked like
a new horse. With blinkers added, he galloped powerfully
and at one point moved so quickly that Daily Racing
Form caught him going seven furlongs in 1:26.17.</p>
<p>Later in the morning, though, trainer Doug O'Neill,
after conferring with owner Merv Griffin, announced
Cobalt Blue would not run.</p>
<p>Cobalt Blue's defection put Teuflesberg into the
<FONT face="Trebuchet MS" color=#ffffff><B><FONT face="Trebuchet MS" color=#ffffff><B><font size="2"><a href="http://www.myspace.com/kentucky_derby_picks" target="_blank"><font color="#0099FF">Kentucky
Derby Picks 2009</font></a></font></b></FONT></b></FONT>,
delighting Jamie Sanders, the colt's trainer and
co-owner, who had been anxiously hoping Teuflesberg
would get in following his close fourth-place finish
in the Blue Grass Stakes.</p>
<p>And then later Tuesday, the connections of Tesio
Stakes winner Xchanger informed Churchill Downs's
racing office that they were out, too. That put
Imawildandcrazyguy in the Derby, giving trainer
Bill Kaplan a second Derby starter, along with Storm
in May. Asmussen, Darrin Miller, and O'Neill also
have two starters in this <a href="http://www.thekentuckyderby.net" title="2007 Kentucky Derby Picks">Derby</a>.</p>
<p>Kaplan also entered Imawildandcrazyguy in the Crown
Royal American Turf on Friday as a backup, but will
go in the Derby if not bumped by some last-second,
unexpected horse.</p>
<p>Mark Guidry will ride Imawildandcrazyguy.<br>
<br>
<em><strong>Kentucky Derby Picks</strong></em> </p>
<p>Trainer Todd Pletcher, who was scheduled to enter
five horses in the Derby, brought his four runners
- <a href="http://thewarrenway.blogspot.com">Any
Given Saturday</a>, <a href="http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/a5d23/" target="_blank">Circular
Quay</a>, Cowtown Cat, and Scat Daddy - to Churchill
Downs on Tuesday to join Sam P., who has been training
at Churchill.</p>
<p>Stormello and Tiago, who arrived on Monday from
California,came to the Churchill Downs track on
Tuesday for light gallops.</p>
<p>The last Derby runner to come to Churchill is Nobiz
Like Shobiz, who was scheduled to be flown from
New York to Kentucky on Wednesday.<br>

Kentucky Derby victory, starting with Hall of Fame trainers
D. Wayne Lukas and Bobby Frankel.
<p>Lukas said the 131st Derby was "the most bizarre of
all."</p>
<p>While giving Giacomo a chance of winning the Belmont Stakes
on May 21, Lukas agreed with Frankel that the colt won't
sweep the Derby, Belmont Stakes and Belmont Stakes.</p>
<p>"You can chisel this in stone: There will not be a
Triple Crown winner," Lukas said Sunday. "We got
too many good horses that will upset the apple cart. The
Belmont Stakes will be just as unpredictable. With all respect
to the horse, (Giacomo) is beatable. He was beatable all
spring."</p>
<p>Giacomo, who went off at 50-1 odds, had one victory in
seven previous races before winning Saturday in the second-biggest
upset in race history.</p>
<p>"You wouldn't think he's a Triple Crown horse. You
got to like the horses who didn't fire in the Derby to win
the Belmont Stakes," Frankel said, referring to 5-2 favorite
Bellamy Road and Afleet Alex.</p>
<p>Frankel's horse, High Limit, finished last; he was badly
cut and bled, but not injured seriously enough to rule him
out of the Belmont Stakes.</p>
<p>Giacomo can expect to see some of the same rivals and a
few new ones in Baltimore in two weeks.</p>
<p>Nick Zito's best finish among his five entries was seventh
by Bellamy Road, owned by New York Yankees boss George Steinbrenner.
Zito was clearly subdued Sunday, but resolved to try again
in two weeks.</p>
<p>"We'll send something there. I don't know what,"
he said.</p>
<p>Also expected for the 1 3-16th-mile Belmont Stakes is third-place
Afleet Alex, who will ship to Baltimore on Wednesday.</p>
<p>"It's a little shorter race, it's in our backyard
and if he runs with the same courage, they will have to
outrun him like they do most times. We have a heck of a
shot," trainer Tim Ritchey said. "He came out
of the race well."</p>
<p>Closing Argument is likely to challenge Giacomo again,
too.</p>
<p>"We don't like to run back in two weeks, but this
is not a normal situation, so we will probably be in Baltimore,"
trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said. "He came out of the
race great and looks super."</p>
<p>Also possible for the Belmont Stakes are: Don't Get Mad (fourth
in the Derby), Wilko (sixth) and Going Wild (18th). Trainer
Todd Pletcher's duo of Flower Alley (ninth) and Coin Silver
(12th) were on the list of maybes.</p>
<p>The likely newcomers are Scrappy T, Malibu Moonshine and
Hal's Image.</p>
<p>Unlikely to race in Baltimore are: Buzzards Bay (fifth),
Greeley's Galaxy (11th), Greater Good (13th), Spanish Chestnut
(16th), Sort It Out (17th) and Bandini (19th).</p>
<p>The Belmont Stakes is limited to 14 starters, but there has
not been a full field since 1992.</p>
<p>Asked if Giacomo could win that race, jockey Mike Smith
said, "Without a doubt. I believe in him a lot."<br>

Lion Heart at tharter pole after a mile in 1:37.35, and the pair

and Smarty Jones responded, grabbing the lead and drawing away to

mean a return to the national racing spotlight, a place he occupied

<p>Magna Graduate came to Byrne after Alexander, a Cleveland-area
woman who long has been prominent in the show horse business and
on the Ohio racing circuit, bought colt privately after a second-place
fin the Kentucky Cup Juvenile last September at Turfway. One of
nine 3-year-olds likely for the 1 1/8-mile Lane's End, Magna Graduate
was a sharp winner of the March 5 John Battaglia Memorial at Turfway
in his last start. Byrne, having trained such stars as 1997 Horse
of the Year Favorite Trick and 1998 BC Classic winner Awesome Again,
knows his way around a top horse. He believes Magna Graduate has
the makings of one, saying he has <a href="http://www.thederbywinner.com/thoroughbredtips.html" title="horse racing tips"> horse racing tips</a>"a lot of upside" and
"can run all day," but beyond that, he is unsure. </p>
<p>"I know he's going to be a useful horse, at least," said
Byrne, who is based primarily at Churchill Downs. "But if he's
going to be one of the top ones, well, that's why we're g up the

2004 earnings ($703,845) were his lowest since 1995. The post-Stronach

suspension stemming from the highly publicized medication positive
of Nani Rose at the 1999 Saratoga summer meet. </p>

<p>Byrne said owners and the media tend to "make super-heroes
out of trainers and jockeys, when in fact it's mostly the horse.
I've always said: 'It's all about the horse.' </p>
<p>Byrne is a firm believer in the maxim that people are eager to
make heroes out of nobodies, then just as eager to tear them down.
"It's funny, but when I was doing all the good, itand now that
I'm not doing that good, I've got plenty of friends," he said.

<p>Nonetheless, he is content as to how his career so far. </p>

<p>Alugh Byrne has trained the occasional horse for such high-profile
clients as Michael Tabor, Stonerside Stable, and Bob and Beverly
Lewis, he currently is down to about 10 active runners, with Magna
Graduate the lone standout. </p>

<p>Magna Graduate will be ridden by Jerry Bailey, a rider switch that
seems to assure the colt will draw ma wagering action Saturday.

<p>* The Lane's End is the most important Derby prep of the weekend,
although two races that conceivably could have implications also
are on tap: the Rushaway at Turfway and the UAE Derby in Dubai.
One other race, the Private Terms at Laurel, did not draw any major
contenders. </p>
<p>The Rushaway will be the first race for Proud Accolade since the
colt won the Feb. 5 Hutcheson Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Proud Accolade
missed the March 12 Louisiana Derby because of a minor illness.

<p>Next Saturday portends a similarly light prep schedule, with the
notable exception of the Grade 1 Florida Derby at Gulfstream. The
$500,000 WinStar Derby, an ungraded race at Sunland Park, also will
be run. </p>
<p>* Rockport Harbor, a game second in his 3-year-old debut last Saturday
in the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park, returned to training as scheduled
in a routine gallop Wednesday at Oaklawn. Rockport Harbor had been

<p>WHO'S HOT: Survivalist, the winner of the Gotham Stakes, is one
of three additions to the Derby Watch top 25 this week. He is 30-1
on the future line set by Mike Wer, Daily Racing Form's national
handicapper. Pavo and Vicarage both eorward moves made from last
week to this were by Consolidator, who is now 12-1 from last week's
40-1 following his victory in the San Felipe Stakes, and Greater
Good, who dropped from 40-1 to 15-1 after winning the Rebel. </p>
<p>WHO'S NOT: Golden Shine was dropped from the list following his
disappointing effort in the San Felipe, and both Lost in the Fog
and Roman Ruler were dropped se they are off the Derby trail. Afleet
Alex, Watchmaker's favorite at 6-1 one week ago, floated out to
20-1 after his last-place finish in the Rebel. </p>
<p>ON THE BUBBLE: Andromeda's Hero could move onto the list if he
captures the Lane's ETurfway on Saturday. Proud Accolade seeks a
two-turn victory on Saturday in the Rushaway aay. Also worth following
are the runners in the United Arab Emirates Derby, including the
